Robbery

Robbery is an unlawful taking of money or property from another person or business, through the use of physical force, threatened force, or intimidation. Robbery is classified as theft, but in order for the crime to be considered robbery, the use of physical force, threatened force, and/or intimidation must be present. Robbery can also be a part of another charge, such as breaking and entering. A harsher version of robbery includes the use of a weapon, making the robbery armed robbery, or aggravated robbery. Although robbery and burglary are generally used interchangeably, they are separate crimes.
