Harassment

Under Florida law, harassment is defined as engaging in a “course of conduct” that causes “substantial emotional stress” to another individual for no reasonable or legitimate purpose. This harassment must occur over a period of time and must establish a pattern within that time period that all harassing contact has the same purpose. The harassment must be willful and malicious and must be repeated enough to show a pattern. If these requirements are met, the person can be found guilty of stalking.
